On location: Penguins 4, Red Wings 1

I just wanted to send out special thanks to Don Maloney for claiming the tiny dancer, Mark Arcobello. I'm sure it will work out just as well as it did the other seven places he played this year.

After seeing the price Buffalo paid for Kane, thank goodness Jim Rutherford sat this out. Don't need Kane's attitude problems, and paying that kind of price would have been tossing in the towel on this season.

So tonight marks the probable return of our saviour, Blake Comeau.

Who knew.

Bennett and Comeau in tonight. Finally have our full compliment of forwards. Time to see what we've got.

Re: beau & Downie....they musta listened to DK & Madden!

doc is the best. wish he was on every game!

Sure hope Bennett proves he belongs in the next bunch of games

"post-Arcobello Era" ?
"An era is a period of time marked by character, events, changes on earth, etc"
Hey DK , I know you are a pro and all , good vocabulary and such.... are you sure you did not mean "error". (prolly that darn auto correct) LOL

Hornie on the spot!

that looked like a joe louis arena goal off the boards

Shoot the puck on the pp!

Top two lines coming out with some big time energy.

I think I heard Arcobello mumble "I could've done that" right after the goal

I really enjoy watching Pavel Datsyuk play hockey. Sorry not sorry.

Crosby has to shoot that puck from there.

I'm a little late but BB in Hornqvist already put one home and Sid is gonna break the record for drop passes in a period good lord, go to the net Sid and shoot da puck!

Welcome back Blake.

Looks like the Geno line came to play Comeau already on the board!

I really miss Steigy telling us you're not supposed to have any jump the first game home after a long road trip. Actually, no I don't.

Wow, really great hands by Horni under pressure... sofft...
Impressive

It's obvious that the freeing of Beau Bennett has completely taken the shackles off the rest of the boys.

The Pens look more content to dump it in and chase it down than I've seen them in a long time. Needed when the opposition lines up at the bile line.

Fleury has not allowed a goal in what 7+ periods!

Where's Sarah? Beer league game tonight?

Sometime soon -- maybe later this year -- Comeau will earn that $700k we paid him this year.

Hornqvist and Comeau make this an entirely different team.

Seems JR did right thing in offseason and adding Perron may be best he could do without giving up too much and fitting under the cap.

So is that a 1st line goal or a 4th line goal?

I'm convinced the Pens will either shutout their opponent or be shutout for the rest of the year!

Detroit not handling the aggressive fore check well at all, I can see why they are looking for D-men

pens look great. nice jump. peron playing well.

Spalding get your foot off the boat!

All three Penguin forwards in front of the net on the Scuderi shot...............very, very impressive

Really going out on limb here but predicting we get rung up for next penalty.

This aggressive forechecking is the way to go. Love it. Team playing great

Geez. Forgot to set the DVR on this one. Been listening to Lange and the ol 29er, what a game so far.

Detroit looks like this is the 8th game of a 15 game road trip

Paul Martin auditioning for the reforming Road Warriors tag team.

Okay, minor complaint here.

Three guys in front of net may be TOO many.

Here's a question for ya, DK. Do you think that Babcock will be the coach of the Pens next year?

I know alot of the local media says "it ain't happening, he's either staying in Detroit or going to Toronto to be the highest paid NHL coach. Personally, I don't buy it for one minute.

While I think Mike Johnston has done an OK job to this point, I still believe that there's one more key item that he's missed: getting everything and anything out of ALL of his players.

I truly believe that the Pens will not go deep in the playoffs this year. With that said, I believe that Mike Johnston will be let go at the end of the season and Pens will aggressively go after Babcock. Why would he want to go to Toronto with all the turmoil? He obviously has an attraction with Crosby and company. So why wouldn't the best coach in the league not want to coach the best player in the league; not to mention his favorite player?

I think that's been the plan of Pens brass since last year after the Shero and Bylsma firings.

And that's how a power play is done boys

Of course Flower destroys my theory

Downies always due for a bad penalty

Stupid hooking penalty by Downie. Puts best pp to work against us.

It won't show in the stats, but Crosby has made some fantastic passes that haven't been finished.

Another 25min like the first 30 will put this in the w column

So now that Kane has been traded, who is the biggest name to be dealt now at the deadline?

Man some really weak penalty calls on the last two hooks

How bad the power play is has to be a story. Just nothing happening.

The Pens think PP means Pretty Pass.

This game looks like it will last less than two hours and 20 minutes. Is that unusually fast?

Nice. Take a good lead, then put the puck in the freezer.

Entertaining, but a bit odd game, I loved the aggressive fore check early, which capitalized on mistakes. Could have been closer if the Red Wings didn't send all those shots from the slot into the glass.

This game was the kind the Pens are built to play. Too bad the whistles and style changes in April

Blake Comeau is the Josh Harrison of Pens.

Ridiculous bag for the buck.

All-time most anticipated returns to Pens line-up:

1. Mario
2. Sid
3. Blake

Bennett is useless

No trades needed, unless someone takes Scuds off hands for 1st rounder.

All right already, would begrudgingly settle for 2nd round pick . . . but ONLY at top of that round.
