On location: Penguins 4, Capitals 3

Any chance Winnik plays tonight? Am guessing it's a long, long shot.

Rarely anticipate a regular season game as much as tonight. Two hot goalies, the Ovi Cheapshot, ex-Pens on Caps D. Let the game begin.

Just listened to DK and the Madman and I have to agree w/DK that this is an important game. They do need to win. Not so much for the points and such, but for momentum and setting the identity and character of this team down the stretch.
The dark side of me is still angry about the last game and wants the Pens to just take Ovies head off every chance they get.
Unfortunately, I don't think that will work. First of all the refs, at least initially, will be looking for the Pens to be out for revenge and be in the box for breathing too hard on #8.
Don't really need a bunch of fights and such, no need to get someone hurt.
Just like to see a hard skating game, some success on the PP and a win.

Wish I could see the game. :( I hope the Pens keep their composure and take it to the Crapitals. GO PENS!

Good jump so far. Owning the puck as they are so far is the best revenge they could ever get. 60 minutes boys, 60 minutes.

First 5 min it's all Pens. A lot of "in your ace" bumping by Caps. No one on Pens biting ...yet.

So apparently they're interested tonight. That's pretty much it with them isn't it. The game gets their attention and then they bring their legs. Sometimes we tend to over analyze things.

Sometimes I don't know why I watch this league.

Slick spin and drop to some one that can bury it...slick.
The little stick lift on the Dman ...nice

Ya DK, nice of RT to peel Malkin off but.... I really thought he was gonna throw a punch also ! LOL

Love all the moves on and off the ice the past two weeks, now I think there is only one left and that is swapping lines with Bennett and Kunitz.

Penguins very lucky Malkin still in this game. Getting involved in fracas while on bench is usually big no-no.

Bad penalty by Kunitz, worse short-handed giveaway by Adams survived by Penguins. Great pace to this period. Two hungry teams. Loud crowd.

So Adams the great penalty killer just stole the puck but was neither quick enough or strong enough to clear the puck which almost led to a goal.

The goalie is the best penalty killer followed by dmen and the forwards have to either have blazing speed or the threat to score shorthanded to be a good penalty killer.

That last PK wasn't looking great, living dangerously here.

Not a good penalty by sid there

Shortie

Filthy roofer by Sutter

Bad turn of events and a bad goal with 10 seconds elfin the period

Fleury has to stop that one. Could be huge momentum shifter. Lousy way to end an otherwise excellent period.
