Covering: Flyers 4, Penguins 1

I do NOT trust the Flyers to play the game the way it was meant to be played.

Look for them to be overly physical in the corners with our defensemen.

I might be on the edge of my couch the whole game. Definitely muting the announcers though haha

Not expecting much. Everytime I think they are ready to go on a run they disappoint me.

I don't have a good feeling about this fellas.

where's malkin? not in warm up.

Malkin is a scratch. Had they known that earlier they could have called up a defenseman

Maintenance Day = an injury we'd rather not discuss.

Here's my small part in tonight's NBC game preview, one in which I shamefully make fun of Voracek: https://vid.me/kGxR

Really Kuni in top 6 over Perron?

What does HCMJ see that no one else does?

Strange, I am logged in but will not load my avatar or name?

Chances of Downie seeing the end of this game?

YESSSSS

Bout time Crosby scored against these bums

300 goals in a Penguins uniform - Lemieux, Jagr, Pronovost, Kehoe & Crosby. That's it. That's the list.

Is Malkin really injured or are they just keeping it out of this game so the flyers don't injure him?

Holy cheese and crackers, Dejan. Why is Kunitz still on the top PP??

Seems like Spaling takes way more penalties these days than good plays that he makes.

Yikes Spaling abused on that shift

This team is perpetually injured. Who the hell knows what this roster can do, they're never all on the ice. Sucks.

This game is turning into a snooze fest

Weak call my goodness

Pens have 11 shots 1/2 way thru the game. No Malkin = no offense for this team. Better hope he is healthy

That penalty was a joke. Thank you Mr. Bettman for ruining the league I used to love watching

Scuderi playing well on PK. Otherwise snore fest tonight. Reduced to rooting for a Rinaldo injury.

Dangit. If we can just keep our cool I will consider that a "win".

Interesting that Giroux cross-checking Crosby to the ice isn't a penalty but Downie nudging a guy in the back is roughing.

Garbage league is as garbage league does...

head coach making an announcement regarding Malkin after the game. Not optimistic this is a good sign.

So many of their problems come as a result of good old fashioned laziness.

Quote for tonight "We need to stop taking undisciplined penalties" insert Crowby, Scudei or HCMJ. But we have a 19 year old coming to save season.

The two Downie penalties are laughable calls. If anything, Cole's skate tripped the guy during the play. These officials are a joke.

They are unbearable to watch, especially live.

I haven't seen an undisciplined penalty yet other than Downie giving that guy a little pop thats allowed 9/10 times. I see the refs calling this game against the Pens as if it's 2006.

Side note: anyone see the Rangers' coach crying about the Byfuglien cross check? Oo it was vicious, deliberate, intent to injure. Hit looked familiar to me.

I know I'm in wrong thread DK but man wish u were down on Florida to give us the latest on cutch. Snider trade looks really bad if he's out a while

Now would be a great time to earn our 2nd come from behind win of the season. Give Philthadelphia something to think about on Easter sunday.

Need two points tonight.

Or at least one.

Listen everyone, this is OUR house. Let's do this!

Not sure what Lovejoy was thinking/doing there

Awesome, well I don't see the Pens scoring 2 goals in the next 18 minutes

Ben Lovejoy, same as he ever was.

What do we have now -- like 12 SOG?

Two players behind D, MAF zero chance on it, but we have mobility, guess GMJR doesn't get knocking guys away from crease. Game turning into a joke.

NBC homers, where do they get these guys?

Penguins offense is so vanilla. Boring.

Was the chief architect of Consol from Philly?

First round loss for sure. DK you may not be a "fan" but thinking that these guys are going to make it out of the first round makes you a mega optimist. These guys are a hot dumpster fire right now.

So..
We're the team playing for the playoffs and Philly is out of the post season?
Or is it the other way around?
I'd be pretty upset if I actually paid to watch this live

Undisciplined and no heart! Bring on green grass and the little ball!

With being so short-handed, why were they practicing yesterday? Just rest everyone at this point in the season especially considering only 5 dmen.

I will never understand how the bad teams look so great against us... but we can take it to the better teams.
against Philadelphia we look like morons.its like.only.one line plays consistent and other lines can not generate. very upsetting. I supported the defensive trades and I am not seeing a positive yet. in the first period yes...after that ....throw in the towel

All she wrote.

They could have Simmons, Giroux, Voracek and Mason out of line-up and still trash us.

Don't understand how a team
Looks so lifeless so often.

Miserable effort by Pens, even if the are down Malkin and skating 19.

Since the Flyers play so well in the Consol should we swap all the Pens for all the Flyers?

So after this dismal and uninspired performance, the Pens have weekend road games against two teams they are 1-5 against & whose hatred of the Pens are second to Ottawa has Tampa and Caps at home and goes to Toronto Sunday night. Worse case is Pens go into Ottawa Tuesday night with a point lead for last playoff spot.

Best part about this one is that it has nothing to do with the opponent. Wouldn't matter if it was Buffalo or Robert Morris.

Undermanned. Undisciplined. Underachieving. Unprofessional.

CEC must be cursed (or the Penguins are the most heartless team in the league).

This is there makeup. If anyone thinks once the playoffs start the power play will click - there lakadasical play will disappear - you are in for a rude awakening. They are going nowhere. If I paid hard earned money to see this garbage I would be pulling my hair out. Im sure you will find something positive to say about them DK but all I have to say is thank goodness the baseball season is just around the corner.

Flyers skated circles around penguins after first 10 mins. Pens offense is so vanilla. Need to spice it up with more movement and less dump and chase

Pens will get the # 5 seed in the east, if the season would end today...

April fools!

We'd actually be #4 team.

You'd should all see the look on your faces.

And tonight is not a random thing. These no show performances are coming with alarming regularity. Wasn't the Carolina game just last week ? Trying to analyze and pick this apart piece by piece is just a waste of time. This is a matter of effort pure and simple.

The other day I posted I was skeptical even after the weekend wins because so needed to see the Pens beat a team in their conference. Still waiting, still skeptical.

A little wishful thinking with that headline Dejan?

Too many passengers on this team pickin' up easy paychecks.

As nice as they look, maybe it's time to ditch the 3rd/throwback jerseys. Pens play like crap every time they wear them.

We all know Malkin's only out so the Penguins can call up Chorney for the next game. Honestly, Botterill should be fired for creating this mess that the team is forced to sit its best forward so it can do an emergency recall.

Hey, put Nick Spaling on waivers. He was empty sweater between Comeau and Kunitz tonight and has been that way most of the season. Some team like CBJ would likely claim him and he and his 2,2M contract are off the books.

IF you keep building around a guy/guys but keep losing maybe it's the guy /guys you are building around who are the problem.

Un-believable! These guys only play when they feel like it, and tonight they mailed it in. I don't understand why they didn't put Bennett on waivers and call up a defenseman. Losing him would not matter one bit, he's a bust. Heck the Flyers didn't even agitate tonight and breezed to an easy win. I feel bad for the fans that spent all that money to go to the game, and they see that crap. They deserved the boos they got from the smattering of fans that remained at the end.
Those penalties on Downie were BS. They really have it out for him, and of course the NBCSN guys fed right into it. You could watch 10 games over the next few days and see those same plays by another player and no calls will be made. That's a fact!

We made all these trades to help out our bottom 6. But yet when we lose just Malkin. We only have 1 line that's a scoring threat... Is our bottom 6 even that much better then? And now after all these deals, we can't even full out a full lineup because of the cap situation we put ourselves in

Just wait. GMJR will announce he is trading for Jordan, Eric and Mark Stall in offseason. We will also hire 2 more GM's and Omar Kahn will be part time Salary Cap assistant.

This team has to suck it up for the rest of the regular season and one round of the playoffs, then get rid of all of the dead wood (Scuderi, Adams, Kunitz) and get younger, hungrier and more energetic players on the roster. That was a weak effort tonight.

Pathetically weak performance ... No real effort ... No discipline ... No identity ... I've given up on the coaching staff. These lackluster performances are way too frequent. There is no reason to believe that the playoffs will be any better .... Bummer

Have I mentioned that I loathe the Flyers?

The Pens played tonight. April Fools.

Ole 29er calling out the Pens in the post game show
Gotta love that

How embarassing is it that this management group mangled the salary cap to the point of dressing 19 players? Inexcusable

Pens 4 flyers 1? espn says otherwise.. I'm travelling and confused now.

Not sure about the score. I wish that was the case.

I am a season ticket holder. I spent roughly $775 dollars for 4 club seats, $250 for dinner at the Lexus club and $27 for parking. I want a refund. What a waste of my family's time. This is a work night for most people and a real hassle to go to such a late game. The effort the team put out was embarrassing. The fans deserve better. I wish I had not bought the playoff package. Unless something drastic changes, I will not be a season ticket holder next year.
