Of course we can say it! Now let’s DO IT!!
      GO VANIMAL!

  2. theplanisworking says:

Friday, I called for 2 victories this weekend. Accomplished!
    .
Now go for the sweep, and make up another game. Better to make up 3 games on the Brauns, than 1.
    .
    Oh, and good for Pedro.
THAT is the Pedro that needs to show up!!

    1. Wild Bill says:

On a Sunday, I can only say amen!

      1. theplanisworking says:

        Thanks, Billiam.

        ;)

  3. Ragpicker says:

Pirates need to show patience at the plate….let’s keep this going.

    2. Patrick(ri) says:

Best thing I see here, is no “lineup crawl” for Pedro. Let him get perfectly comfortable where he is.

      1. -3

Would have been tempted to put him at cleanup after last night – might have gotten Cutch some fastballs to hit ;-)

        1. Arriba Wilver says:

No need to change what worked. As Clint said in the pregame, he’s not that smart.

  5. JG007 says:

No Sunday lineups for these teams. It’s clear how important this one is today.

    Beat ‘em Bucs.

  6. stuart66 says:

Trying (unsuccessfully) to update my subscription. Does anyone here know the meaning of the term “recurring” which is inserted after each of the subscription options?

I’m home from the beach and looking forward to watching the Bucs sweep!

    Stuart

    1. Dodkong says:

Not being a subscriber here as of yet, I can only guess. But how I’m used to seeing recurring subscriptions work is that when the time frame you’ve paid for expires, you will automatically be billed for the same time frame previously paid for unless you manually decline the re-u.

      1. maccreate says:

Stu – pretty sure this is correct. Here in Germany, a subscription or contract (phone, internet, etc.) needs to be cancelled three months in advance or it will auto-extend. How was the weather at the beach?

        1. stuart66 says:

Thanks mac, We had great weather at the beach, and it was made better because both of my adult sons joined us there
The “recurring” business at the website makes me a little nervous. Like the “Free” subscriptions to magazines which unless you do something to cancel you will pay

        2. Arriba Wilver says:

Not shilling for DK, but if you don’t like the “recurring,” sign up for the 3 year. It doesn’t say it’s recurring.

Recurring is more than standard for internet subscriptions.

      2. Keith Hadley says:

Yes, I believe that’s the way it works.

    2. Dejan Kovacevic says:

I know what it means when someone asks, kindly, politely, that all such issues be handled by email. We’ve gone above and beyond in addressing all issues that way. This forum is for sports. Thanks.

  7. kr70 says:

dodgong look at that as a bonus!

    1. stuart66 says:

Might be a bonus for this site, but still strikes me as a smarmy business practice.

      Stu

      1. Arriba Wilver says:

        Smarmy? It’s the 21st Century.

        1. Arriba Wilver says:

If you have a big problem with it use a credit card that expires prior to the re-up date. And don’t provide the new expiration date. Not too hard, but to reiterate, this is pretty standard nowadays.

      2. Dodkong says:

The idea is that the biller, in this case DK, assumes that you are happy with the service provided and that to make your life slightly more simple, that they auto bill you based on what you’ve paid for previously. If you are unhappy with the service, the assumption is you’d…

      3. Dodkong says:

opt out the moment you realize you are not happy with what you’ve paid for. Therefore, the onus is on the purchaser to protect themselves from unwanted charges.

          Wait, Dodkong, you’re NOT subscribed?

        2. Dodkong says:

Unfortunately, no, not at this time.

        3. Dejan Kovacevic says:

  8. Wild Bill says:

Methinks the Pirates should not allow the dads to go home after this weekend. The boys like having their dads around, and it workin’.

    1. For sure, Bill.

    2. WarHorse says:

It was a stroke of genius to schedule the fathers’ visit for the Milwaukee series. I just hope they did not all go out and get loaded with their sons last night.

  9. Cmat0829 says:

Phils up 3-0 on the cards and Masterson. Boy what a good pickup he was for mozeliak.

    1. Cmat0829 says:

      5-0 Phil’s.

  10. Arriba Wilver says:

    Uh-oh.

  11. Cmat0829 says:

Bummer start again. Lucky hits and maybe vanimal needs to start angling it better. Comeback again??

  12. Cmat0829 says:

    Big answer. Marte partay!!!

  13. Patrick(ri) says:

I really like this batting order. Pretty good pressure in late positions. Don’t you miss Martinez, Fix & Barmes (or early season Jordy)?

  14. Cmat0829 says:

Get Cumpton up please. Worley command awful

    1. Doesn’t seem to be fooling anyone. Short leash should be the mode of the day. Big game to win for us.

  15. Cmat0829 says:

84 mph waist high isn’t gonna cut it

    1. Maybe a trip to the CL is in order?

    2. Patrick(ri) says:

Agreed, Cmat, but a couple misplays turn a potential 2-1 or 2-2 game into a 2-4 game.

      1. Arriba Wilver says:

Brewers first 2 runs seemed pretty legit.

        ?

        1. Patrick(ri) says:

If the pitcher catches the bouncer, or if he lets it go through to 2B, no scores in first.

      2. Cmat0829 says:

Misplays Worley and cutch on Gomez. And perhaps JHay.

  16. wsamcap says:

With each game, each at bat, each game call, all I want to say is: PLEASE RE-SIGN RUSSELL MARTIN!!! Thank you, I feel better now.

  17. Reading says:

Obviously, “Vanimal” means unable to retire a batter with two outs.

    1. wsamcap says:

He’s got a better groove going now; maybe the visitors can get it going, too

  18. Cmat0829 says:

I think polanco needs another few days off. Lost.

  19. Rock says:

What the hell is wrong with Polanco? Watching fastball after fastball.

  20. Reading says:
    -1

Not sure how you look at three pitches right down the middle. Doesn’t look like it’s going to happen today. Letting the Brewers weasle off the hook. Five games out a lot worse than three games out.

    1. Patrick(ri) says:
      -1

Pitcher seems to have all the Pirates out of sync. Another getaway Sunday. So far.

    2. Boo says:

      Very astute observation.

  21. Rock says:

In the end, who will have made a greater contribution to their respective Pittsburgh teams?

    Tim Worley or Vance Worley?

  22. Radio wave says:

Just turned the game on. How is PA doing at first?

    1. Reading says:

He’s looked pretty good. Made a nice catch in foul territory.

  23. Jandy says:

I just tuned in as well. Dare I say we are missing Lunchbox???

    1. Patrick(ri) says:

At the plate, for sure. Polanco nailed Braun at the plate to save one run.

      1. Jandy says:

        well then, it’s 50/50

  24. Jandy says:

Oh my, now THAT was funny lol

  25. Reading says:

    Why not PH Snyder?

  26. Jandy says:

    Shouldn’t Petey have had that?

  27. Patrick(ri) says:

    Make him swallow his chaw!

    1. Patrick(ri) says:

      KRod, that is.

  28. Cmat0829 says:

    Not over yet!!!

  29. wsamcap says:

I think Cutch may be OK

  30. Cmat0829 says:

Wow. Pitch around Martin to put tying run on? Wow

  31. Cmat0829 says:

One of these times Pedro needs to guess first pitch change up and swing for the fence. He gives pitchers first strike slop a lot.

    1. Cmat0829 says:

KRod is Pedro kryptonite. Off speed junk

  32. Jandy says:

oh well, 2 outta 3 aint’ bad

  33. Eric Bowser says:

Winning 2 of 3 in that house of horrors, I’ll take it.

  34. Florida Steeler says:

I am normally critical of Neal H., but I give him kudos on his evaluation of Polanco. He is not ready for the big boys.
