Seems a bit late in the season to still be playing a cupcake.

    1. Arriba Wilver says:

West Virginia won’t play them. ;-)

      1. William Maloni says:

Pitt might lose this one; good grief!!

    2. Radio wave says:

Pitt is making them look like a gormet cupcake.

  2. Oshie says:

Goes without saying, but a loss here would be embarrassing.

  3. Radio wave says:

Pitt has stumbled against mac before, but should not happen today.

  4. Jacob says:

Its so stupid that its not on TV in Pittsburgh. That’s ridiculous.

  5. Oshie says:

I have a sense that Pitt is pretty good. Beat BC, a team that beat Southern California. Could have beaten Iowa and been undefeated. No shame in losing to a well coached Iowa club. Even if the Panthers roll, I probably still won’t have a handle on this club. Just improve !

  6. Oshie says:

By the way. Leaves are changing here. Autumn in full rage. Strolled through the local college campus this morning. Tranquil, beautiful.

    I love college football!

  7. Estif2 says:

I would like to see more poise in the passing game on offense and tighter coverage on D. (And a big win margin) that would make me feel like the team is getting better.

  8. Dejan Kovacevic says:

James Conner limped off after first offensive play of game, but he’s since returned and seems OK, though Chris James and Isaac Bennett are getting more carries than usual.

  9. Estif2 says:

Man this is a brutal game. Back up CB not doing the job. Defense looked great until (wait for it) we give up a big play.

  10. Estif2 says:

Dejan, as part of your insider series, could you look into how badly the Panther offense misses Artie Rowell. Calls at the line of scrimmage are key, and quite frankly, the offense has not looked the same since the BC game.

    1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

I don’t think Artie’s the issue, with all due respect. It’s that 10 men are in the box, and Pitt’s quarterback can’t exploit that. Plain and simple.

  11. Estif2 says:

Thought Rowell could be like a coach on the field for QB.

  12. Radio wave says:

Wow plug in a dt to rush for thevtd.

  13. Radio wave says:

    There is that dt again.

They are who we thought they were!!!

Can I say I told you so.
Doubtful Pitt will win 6 regular season games this year.
Chryst will NOT get an extension.
    Can’t blame Wanny anymore!

    1. Rooster says:

Not a good game at all, but your post is a bit extreme. I guess you have time on your hands with the Mountaineers off this week.

      1. Pitt Critic says:

btw, I thought Pitt could win 8 games this year due to the schedule.
But after Iowa, I said 7 max.
After Akron, I doubt we will get 6 regular season wins.

        1. Rooster says:

          “We”? That’s funny.

I agree that 8 wins is probably unreachable now, but I refuse to bury a team in September. The OL had a bad game. Voytik is learning on the job. Coaches need to roll him out more and make better use the TEs. We shall see.

        2. Rooster says:

I think I read that Pitt is one of the youngest teams in D1. If so, losses like this will happen. In Pitt tradition they lose a game to. Team that they should beat, and the. Win a game against a team they should lose to. We’ll see if that pattern holds again this year.

  15. DJ says:

Wow. So much for learning lessons last week.

  16. DJ says:

Most underrated QB trait is seeing entire field. Very best have it (Marino), others don’t (Kordell).
    .
Chad has a way to go. Pulling for him though.
