Pirates 5, Brewers 2

Did not waste any time putting Stewart in lineup.

Not that anyone cares, but Braun's right foot is out of the box.

Brewers came to town at just the right time for the Buccos.

It was an out, but good approach by Pedro with two strikes.

If the Bucs get a sweep, one of the reasons might be that the pitchers did not have to deal with Vlas behind the plate (I agreed with his call on Marte, btw). He is just the worst HPU.

JHay needs to check his glove.

Ugghhhhh....

I like the flip of Leyva and Sofeld...

Feels like this is going to be a high-scoring comedy of errors. Feels like a high-scoring day all around MLB

WASTED opportunity.....

Real clutch hitting by McCutchen and Walker. Play Sean Rodriguez.

We look somewhat off-kilter today...

Cole needs an efficient inning here.

Cole Train cutting loose this inning!

This has the makings of a long, hard to watch game.

It's an old term, but "bear down" might be good advice today for the

Stuart

Daydro!!!!!

Though Garza's struck out 3 over 4 innings, the Pirates have done well in recent days to cut their strikeout rate and hit the ball where fielders ain't. Lohse and Garza may be not be what they were but the Bucs appear feisty at the plate as of late. A good sign considering the starting pitching their own staff is demonstrating.

Cole in the groove now...

Cole done after only 6 innings again today...

Ouch!

I do not know what they are saying on TV, but Greg Brown on the radio is speculating this could be a broken rib.

Hope Jordy's ok...

Another Garza gift. Looks like his was distracted by injuring Mercer.

Guess Kang will get his ABs now...

Hughes is becoming almost as automatic as Watson.

Brewers are done. They resemble a last-place team, and so vulnerable that the Pirates just had to capitalize. Sweep is inevitable, and it's not premature to begin raising that thing today.

Hope Jordy is okay. He looked in some serious discomfort.

Grili sixth save for braves.

Word from the dugout on Jordy: "Pain in the rib cage area"....

Love the continued booing of Braun

And cheers when he fans

I dare Roenicke to put Broxton in to pitch the 8th.

Pedro is swinging with such confidence right now.

This outing will tell a lot about Melancon.

RAISE IT!!!

Raise it! Hope Jordy is ok.

Great sweep Buccos - Am really impressed with Cole and the bullpen so far.

X-ray's negative on Jordy's ribs....

DK - have any more prescient pictures/captions you'd like to share?? Pedro should send Garza a thank you note.
