Covering: Reds 3, Pirates 0

About to head out to try and break this losing streak. Raining pretty good at my house, hopefully it clears out in time.

Tonight's final———7 - 2 Good Guys

Chris Stewart has been a very good 2nd catcher for Buccos thus far.

DEJAN,

YOU HAVE TWO BASEBALL THREADS!

Doubleheader???

Nick Kingham has a right elbow problem. Not good. Taillon gets TJ last year. Now possibly Kingham. The Pirates are so cautious. It goes to show that babying and innings limits won't solve a systemic and developmental problem.

Looks like my lineups disappeared

Reds Lineup:

1. Billy Hamilton (S) CF
2. Marlon Byrd (R) LF
3. Joey Votto (L) 1B
4. Todd Frazier (R) 3B
5. Brandon Phillips (R) 2B
6. Jay Bruce (L) RF
7. Kristopher Negron (R) SS
8. Tucker Barnhart (S) C
9. Mike Leake (R) P

More bad news Tim Williams @timwilliamsP2
Eff RT @NotSoMcCool: #Pirates prospect Tyler Glasnow pulled from game before throwing any pitches in fourth with apparent injury.

Had Hamilton struck out. Nice way to start the game with a blown call. That's all we need.

Nice to pitch out of an early jam. Let's get some runs fellas.

Glad to see Neil is changing his approach....

Don't be shocked if Cole is the guy that sparks the offense today...

Dejuan just tweeted about meeting Ned Rolsma. Anyone know if he is from Hopewell, PA? Sorry for this post, but my wife is hogging the computer

Cole and Votto barking at each other and ROOT goes to commercial.

Votto ejected then bumped ump so will have a few days of suspension

Home plate Ump thought Votto was talking to him. He gave Cole a mofo. Ump thought it was for him.

I think the umpire thought Votto was mouthing off to him instead of Cole.

Call my crazy, but at what point should it be considered comical to keep pitching to Todd Frazier?

Ballgame. Now what.

You don't think maybe it was because of where they positioned him?

So much for a stopper performance - 77 pitches

If only the exciting play-by-play calls in the commercials could somehow materialize in the actual games. Another mail it in effort by the batters.

Where's the heat? What's the deal with the hanging breaking balls?

Well, I fear this game is over already.

So how about some ducks on the pond, drive them home and get the W?

What the heck is a hip impingement? Must be bad news for a catcher. Too bad, he has been pretty impressive.

We must lead the NL in choppers to the left side of the infield

Should have let Cole hit!

Okay!! The hit parade starts NOW!!!! Note: groundouts don't count.

There's just too much going on to complain about. Votto getting tossed was pretty funny, though.

Not going to make a big art-graphic deal of milestones anymore, but we crossed 11,000 subscriptions today. Thanks, as ever, for your trust.

Can anybody hit the ball? Beuler?

Said it at beginning of year, Pirates had one proven hitter in Cutch. Now he's hurt they have no one. This should have been expected.

A 3-run blast there would really have been key. Really.

5 runs in 50 innings and Cueto isn't even pitching

It's sad when a hit with runners on feels like a miracle.

Nice job by Scahill.

What a punchless offense, this is just getting ludicrous.

Another chance with runners on.......

Big LOB opportunity here

Guessing Clint gets tossed here

We have to be leading the league in right hand batters grounding outside pitches to short. The lefties, of course, are grounding their outside pitches to second!

One step may have been out. Does this ump ref basketball in the off-season?

Questionable call at best. This is getting so out of hand. Our offense is terrible. This game feels like 10-0 again.

Is it time to deal some of our legendary AAA talent for a real hitter? I mean before the bottom of the 8th?

I like Corey Hart, though.

Hart: "Leake"? "Pfft". First pitch single.

When a batted ball hits the foul line it is a fair ball. Similarly, when Polanco's las step before first base was on the chalk, he was in fair territory. The ump made the right call.

We certainly are snake bit. Now or never now in 8th. The big lefty will shut down the 9th.

Stuart

Deserved that after the called strike in the dirt!

There might be a few gnomes available tomorrow.

So, who is the consensus first overall pick in the MLB draft?

Well Kang will continue to get his wish of facing Chapman....

FYI: The Bucs are now 4-14 against teams not called the Diamondbacks and Brewers.

I hear Cueto wants to move up in the rotation so he can pitch a no-hitter tomorrow.

5 games against the Reds this year; Chapman has appeared in all 5.

Kang is definitely not intimidated by Chapman...very nice...

They need some sort of shake-up. Get rid of Branson and bring in a Easler or Madlock as the hitting coach. This non scoring nonsense is going to get contagious and affect our big 3 starters before too long. They know going out to the mound they have to pitch a shut-out to just have a chance.

Lower it.

They're laughing at us.

Ok, Huntington. Your move.

Maybe one of these seasons, the BUCCOS will be the team tearing up the NL Central...

Shake it up. Time to panic.

Good to hear Votto is remorseful for bumping umpire.

On the bright side the weather couldn't have turned out any better.

Life is a bitch,sometimes

Beat em Bucs, its not over

By the way, absolutely the correct call on the Polanco play at first base. Not even close.

Watching Cubs-Cardinals. Cardinals giving away Rawlings Big Stick Matt Adams wooden bats to kids at an upcoming game. Pirates giving away gnomes. One team hits, one team...
