Voytik said to have a “short leash” tonight. wouldn’t mind seeing him challenged a little. Connor can’t do it all. Need to rise up for the ACC. Believe they can do it instead of playing down to the competition.
    Roar Panthers!

P.S. On another note, great column on the hockey X and O.

    2. Dejan Kovacevic says:

Trouble is, Stu, if you turn to Trey, you pretty much take Boyd out of the attack other than the occasional end-around or WR screen. Ick.

      1. Stuart66 says:

I take it he has down-field issues?

Still think Chad needs a push. I guess I’m expecting Russell Wilson. There, I typed the word “Russell” without mentioning the catchinbg situation.

I refuse to believe Pitt is as bad as they looked last week.

In a similar vein, who is good in CFB ? The Badgers looked horrible. ND and Stanford in a snoozer. ‘Bama having trouble at Miss. Oregon loses at home.

Nobody can score. Seems like the entire nation lacks a QB!

    1. Florida Steeler says:

Rodriguez recruited a nice freshman QB from Vegas. Kid looked great against Oregon the other night.
      Voytik is not the answer.

      1. Oshie says:

Yes. He had a good night. Overall, though, lots of teams are dealing with QB headaches.

  3. Jay Baileys says:

Ole Miss just beat Alabama, Pitt can beat Virginia!

  4. Jason Baileys says:

My ACC trivia is lacking, why the hell are Virginia called the Hoo’s?

    1. mkozak25 says:

Im a UVA grad. They are called the Hoos because their nickname other than the cavaliers is the wahoos. Its a drinking reference from back in the day. Wahoos can drink their weight in water and it just kinda stuck

      1. Jason Baileys says:

Sweet, imagine that a drinking reference for a college! Thanks I heard them calling them that and didn’t have a clue.

  5. Jason Baileys says:

Sportsmanship Week huh, how long until some dude makes a play and pounds his chest and jumps up and down like he’s on fire?

  6. Oshie says:

It’s amazing watching Boyd run his routes. Everybody in the state of Virginia knows he’s the only receiving threat on the club, yet he manages to get open more often than not.

Voytik appears to be handling pressure OK in the early going.

  7. kr70 says:

time to pound Connor and then hit Boyd!

  8. Oshie says:

Not a good series there! Will Voytik physically survive this game ? OL needs to step up.

  9. Sarah says:

    Wow.
    Ugly.

  10. Jason Baileys says:

Pitt just doesn’t look ready to compete against these teams. They have 2 options on offense and the qb can’t do anything but handoff to Conner and throw to Boyd. Looks like another .500 season. I guess the fact that they are ao young is one reason.

  11. I can’t believe he actually threw to the TE. Must have thought it was Boyd.

The joys of being a Pitt fan.

Chad V…kid has heart. Good for him, but I hope Chryst has another QB he’s recruiting.

  12. Oshie says:

Chryst and his staff’s ability to coach halftime adjustments will be tested again tonight. I’m not holding my breath, though.UVA just might drop 60 on the Panthers.

    1. Jason Baileys says:

Still think they aren’t as bad as they looked last week? Ouch this is awful football.

      1. Oshie says:

Haha! They are awful, Jason. I’m a believer, now! Think I’ll ditch this game and watch USC/AZ State.

  13. Jason Baileys says:

Pick 6 game over and another awful showing.

  14. Bettis36 says:

I try to care about Pitt, but more often than not they play games like tonight. Time to watch baseball….

  15. DJ says:

Someone needs to tell Voytik that you cannot keep throwing passes while retreating. Even when things break down.
    .
At some point, got to make first guy miss — one guy — and then step into a throw.

  16. Jason Baileys says:

O line getting destroyed, they have the deer in headlights look

  17. Arriba Wilver says:

Do we have a game now? 24-10

    1. Arriba Wilver says:

      And now a Pitt interception.

      1. Arriba Wilver says:

        24-13. 3rd Quarter, 3:52 left.

  18. Oshie says:

That pick six at the end of the first half looms huge.

  19. Bob Keller says:

Without an elite prospect QB, Pitt will never compete with the top teams in the league. Marino anyone?
