News/views: Penguins gear up for opener

Can't wait to put the disappointment of the previous season to the distant past. May take a few months to get comfortable in the coach's new system, but here's to a fresh start and lots of promise that a new season brings! Stay healthy boys...Let's Go Pens!!!!!

First I heard mention that it's the shoulder with regards to Malkin.

They're Quakers?

Pens are gonna struggle the first 6 weeks of the season, adjusting to coach and system, plus the schedule is brutal esp. in October (Ana/Dallas/NYI/Detroit/LA, hell even a trip to Toronto is proven to be bad lately) Let's not kill MAF or Johnson before Turkey Day, it will smooty

Public service announcement: with so many changes and questions, please illustrate patience if the team opens say, 0-2

Bold predictions: Letang wins the Norris thx to Ehrhoff. Sutter becomes a viable top 6 FW. Hornqvist scores more goals the Neal this year. Pouliot jumps the more experienced prospects and forces his way into the lineup. Ehrhoff signs extension & Martin is traded for a forward.

I've been out of the loop, so what is today's crisis ?

Not expecting much out of this game with a new system in place. I'll hold off on the bridge jumping for a while. Nothing matters until the spring.

So lets go with an upper too: "It's a Hockey Night in Pittsburgh"

Here's something that should be of concern. As of yesterday, the Penguins were still advertising tickets available for tonight. It'll be interesting to see if they need student rush to sell out the opener.

Giving Sutter the chance to center the 2nd line with Geno and Dupuis on the wings is a great gesture of faith from the coaching staff. Especially since everyone thought he was gone at the deadline last season. I bet he returns the favor tonight.

the lunatic level subscription just paid for itself. hockey insight unavailable anywhere else. love it!

Happy Birthday Dejan. Hope there is many more.

Penguins season is officially open again. Yay! But can they close the deal this year? Stay tuned!

OK, Y'all!
Talk me down off this ledge.
.
Explain to me why having Geno Malkin and Kris Letang on the points for the Power Play is a good thing.
.
Is it because they are Pen's two fastest skaters and will be best at chasing down the opposing skater when they give puck away?!

Got a 6:30 meeting I've gotta attend, but as soon as I get home, my spur's in the ice. Let's go Pens!

It's good that Gibson is starting and having a homecoming, hopefully Pens fans will OK if the Pens actually win tonight. Most Yinzers mandate local athletes should be on Pittsburgh teams and, if not, Pittsburgh teams should acquiesce to the team of hometown athlete. Go Pens!

Love Gibson and the way he plays. Will root for him to play well (every night he's not in net against us).
1st step on a long road...GO PENS!
