  1. Scott in Orlando says:

Living vicariously through you, once again, DK. I hope you are having the same beautiful weather in JAX as we are having in Orlando today. Should hopefully promote great on-field communication and execution. :)

  2. hockeymonster says:

Tackle someone! Cover someone! Block someone! Catch the damn ball! Feed Heath! Get to the QB! Do Something!!!!

    1. theplanisworking says:

Or, I can just read this and laugh.
      That is “doing something” ;)

  3. Steelkings says:

    just win baby!

  4. Rbilak1 says:

    1. Who will get first dumb penalty?

    2. Which O line member will suck this week?

    3. Will we get a sack or interception?

    4. Will we open with a 3 and out as Haley’s scripts and Red Zone suck.

    5. Will Ziggy play like a Worlids beater today?

  5. Vette60 says:

Well. We will see if the Black & Gold can take of the hapless Jags. Not planning on watching, may listen for a bit. Will be at the pumpkin patch with the kiddos – beautiful fall say here.

    Later all.
    Randy in RVA.

  6. Stuart66 says:

I have always felt that if you see an inevitable train wreck coming, you might as well speed it up so you can get past it. I think I’d like to see an end to the Tomlin/Haley (but not LeBeau) Era. Time to move on. A loss to the Jags might speed things up. Just sayin.
    Stuart

    1. Arriba Wilver says:

Curious, Stu. How does LeBeau escape?

      1. Stuart66 says:

With him, its not about the schemes IMHO but talent level from recent drafts. I think Tomlin has had a lot of input on the draft. Not sure about the GM, but he did draft better with a different coach.
        Stu

        1. DKS says:

Aren’t the schemes too complicated for the younger Steelers? Which is why they can’t get on the field and look lost when they do manage to get on the field.

  7. Oshie says:

I think the Steelers will roll today.

    1. pattonbb says:

I thought they would last week.

      1. Didn’t we all?

        1. theplanisworking says:

          Mercy.

  8. mwehrle27 says:

So if the Steelers lose today, how hot is Tomlins seat?

    1. pattonbb says:

Ice cold. I think he’ll get another year.

    2. William Maloni says:

      He shouldn’t.

  9. William Maloni says:

When will McCullers “get a helmet?” There are no all-pros playing in front of him, quite the contrary.

  10. Wild Bill says:

Another Sunday, and one of the two teams will reek. Hope it’s not us this time.

  11. SDBurghman says:

What would a first drive be without a bubble screen!

  12. Florida Steeler says:

Special team penalty–AGAIN, every week. And, remember this coach is another one of Tomlin’s buddies that got ran out of Washington.

  13. DKS says:

umm…do you think other teams know that a bubble screen is coming by now?

    1. hockeymonster says:

I can hear snoop dogg now…

    2. Aerow says:

Ugh, no passes downfield yet, why?

      1. Sarah says:

I hate the bubble screen with the heat of a thousand suns

        1. Aerow says:

I hate it when the Steelers run it 4 times in the first half and none of them produce anything…

  14. Don’t have the game here. Is this another week of pathos?

    1. Arriba Wilver says:

      Does pathos mean stinks? :-)
      .
      Hi Rev.

      1. Yeah. Pathetic. Hi AW.

        ;)

DK’s tweet about 1st and goal at the 5 sums it up.

        Fire Haley along with Tomlin!

  15. Reading says:

Ground and Pound! No running plays from the 4? Bell averages 5 yards a pop. 3 ridiculous pass plays. WTH?

    1. Sarah says:

      See Haley, Todd.

  16. Reading says:

You got Blount. You get Bell. Amazed that they went “finesse” there. 8-8 mentality.

    1. Sarah says:

      See Haley, Todd.

      1. Fire Haley, Todd.

    2. Reading says:

See, letting garbage team hang around, gain confidence.

    3. Bernard says:

Like last week we are watching 2 of the worst teams in the league.

  17. Sarah says:

    Cortez! Holy smokes!

    1. Steelag70 says:

Cortez has actually played well today….

      1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

        Seconded.

  18. Sarah says:

    God bless Ben.
His Monday mornings getting out of bed have got to be unimaginable these last few years.

    1. Bernard says:

Over last 5+ qtrs out scored by winless teams. How bad is this team?

    2. Aerow says:

No excuse for Beachum to get beat like that…

  19. Thank goodness for the Red Zone channel – I can watch something that resembles good football. The definition of insanity – Steelers+Tomlin

    1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

Bizarre but true: They have a giant screen in one corner here that shows Red Zone constantly. It’s a real distraction.

  20. theplanisworking says:

Well, this is what you will get with Tomlin, Haley, and LeBeau.
Offense is a mess, Defense is a mess, and no accountability.
    .
To even be struggling with this Jacksonville team is just pathetic.
    .
But, I guess its a bright spot we keep drafting LB’s.
    .
    Just get a win!

  21. hockeymonster says:

Have we targeted Heath over the middle yet? He was money last week.

    1. hockeymonster says:

      Finally

      1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

Heath really hasn’t been open much.

        1. hockeymonster says:

Sooo…shouldnt that mean there’s room downfield? Oh ya, o-line would have to be block for more than a second. Maybe more running room then…although on huge dvr delay right now…catching up.

  22. hockeymonster says:
    -1

From the writing on the wall category:
    .
Chances munchak replaces todd mid season?

    1. -1

Better idea – Munchak replaces Tomlin mid season – or sooner…

  23. Aerow says:

Net 26 yards on the punt, yea…

  24. Reading says:

Now, of course, they’ll run on third and goal from the half yard line and it’ll get stuffed.

  25. Barb says:

Well whaddya know they actually scored against a bad team. Mercy. As stated above I feel the following should be on the proverbial “hot seat” – Tomlin and Haley.

  26. Reading says:

Have they even blitzed Bortles? Looked like only 3 or 4 guys rushing each play.

    1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

Worilds has gone after QB more often than not. But outright blitzing, no.

      1. Florida Steeler says:

You mean Worilds is still on the team??

      2. Reading says:

He just seems too comfortable out there.

  27. Steelag70 says:

It’s amazing what can happen when you quit running the bubble screen, actually pound the ball between the tackles, and run play action around the goal line…..

  28. Karen22 says:

Where, oh where, have my Steelers gone?? PATHETIC so far. (Yes: See “Haley, Todd” and “Tomlin, Mike”).

  29. JP_USA says:

So, besides Cortez Allen’s INT, is he still getting beat out there? Can’t watch today.

  30. Steelag70 says:

Finally….a Lance Moore sighting! But then the dumb penalty….uggghhhh

    1. Florida Steeler says:

And, second penalty of game os special teams!!!!

  31. Steelag70 says:

Kelvin Beachum has struggled at LT this season so far…

  32. Craig Nelson says:

I see the team has a corrected it’s issue with taking undisciplined penalties. Ugh.

  33. Steelag70 says:

Ridiculous…another wasted drive….once again playing down to the opposition….and where’s that vaunted no-huddle offense??

    1. Bernard says:

      Maybe they aren’t playing down.

  34. Steelag70 says:

And now Jacksonville finds some running room…

  35. Steelag70 says:

    Eight more penalties today….

  36. pattonbb says:

Jacksonville has 6 Rookies on the field right now

  37. Bettis36 says:

This team has a long way to go. Struggling against another perennial bottom dweller. Haley makes my skin crawl, like Snoop says, fire that bum.

    1. Sarah says:

      They are what they are.
      A weak D.
A HOF QB that Haley cannot seem to make use of, despite a starcWR and a couple of strong RBs, and Miller.

I’m with Snoop on that score.

    2. cherokee23 says:

Curious what Snoop has to say about Tomlin, or is he off limits to Snoop’s criticism?

  38. zidanesdagger says:
    -1

I’m starting to think 8-8 might be optimistic for the Steelers.

Come on. First they a team that could have had 70+ points come in and beat them last week. Now they are making JAC’s D look like the 85 Bears. Embarrassing.

    1. Sarah says:

Way optimistic at this rate. God help the D vs a strong offense.

  39. Steelag70 says:

So much for that Dri Archer speed…

    1. Bettis36 says:

Another wasted pick. Don’t draft scat backs when their are so many holes at other positions.

      1. Florida Steeler says:
        -1

        yes,
        another midget that is useless.

        1. Tim says:

          Just like Tomlin.

  40. Sarah says:

    Well done AB!

  41. Steelag70 says:

Ben and AB just have that connection…wow!

  42. Sarah says:

    Wow. Like 8 pump fakes.

    1. Steelag70 says:

Great catch by Justin Brown though…

  43. Sarah says:

Are they getting this done with good play calling, or just individual great-ness?
    Suspect the latter.

  44. Steelag70 says:

Justin Brown….who knew?? Guess Lance is back in the dog house…

  45. Sarah says:

    You can’t make this up.

  46. Bettis36 says:

    LOL…

  47. Steelag70 says:

Unbelievable….o-line just got run over on that play….

  48. Craig Nelson says:

I suppose the Steelers are running the ball too well to continue to call running plays on running friendly down.

    1. Steelag70 says:

      Or play action

  49. Sarah says:

    Who???

  50. Florida Steeler says:

Tomlin was going to correct the penalties–he is yelling at them but Lance Moore yelled right back. He has lost this team and it started last year.

    1. Craig Nelson says:

I was thinking that, as well. He was getting it as much as he was giving it. That’s unacceptable. There should only be one dog in charge.

      1. Steelag70 says:

Hence why he hasn’t been on the field since….

        1. Craig Nelson says:

No, he’s still in the game.

    2. i actually thought I saw signs of him losing the team 2 years ago. Bad losses to Oakland, Tennessee and Cleveland.

  51. Bettis36 says:

    I can’t believe he didn’t drop that…because that’s what I expect anymore.

  52. Steelag70 says:

Well…at least the defense has shown up today…

  53. -1

I thought our D backs were taught to knock down the ball – not catch it ;-)

  54. Steelag70 says:

Looks like the Steelers will still have to go out and acquire a quality LT…sorry Kelvin Beachum…you are not it….

    1. Bettis36 says:

Beachum was never supposed to be a LT. He’s undersized to begin with. He was given the spot simply because Mike Adams failed miserably. Sadly poor drafting is the norm these days.

  55. Steelag70 says:

The secondary has actually played the best of all positions today….

    1. Sarah says:

      You’re right.
      Oy.

    2. Jim S. says:

Agreed, but with a grain of salt because Jax is awful in the passing game.

  56. Bettis36 says:

    That was a terrible spot.

  57. Sarah says:

It’s a one score game Peeps.
Vs the dregs of the league.
    Yeesh.

  58. Steelag70 says:

Another underachieving performance by this offense yet again….

  59. Steelag70 says:

TB 31- NO 20….and we were upset about the game last week…

  60. Steelag70 says:

    Diesel Man!!!

  61. Florida Steeler says:

    Nice play call to Heath.

    1. Dejan Kovacevic says:

Would have been welcome a week earlier, no?

  62. Steelag70 says:

    Stay inbounds AB!!

  63. Bettis36 says:

I’m happy about the win, but still plenty of ugly to fix.

  64. Florida Steeler says:

    A win is a win.

  65. Steelag70 says:

Not an inspiring performance from this offense today…I do tip my hat to the defense today…better tackling, turnover’s forced, splash plays and a pass rush in big spots….

  66. Aerow says:

Difference in the game was veteran QB vs. mistakes of a rookie QB- the Steelers are literally at Jacksonville level without Roethlisberger.

  67. Jim S. says:

Colts, with a chance to ice the game, turn it over deep in Balt territory. Ugh! But, Balt is 4th & 3. Colts hold, they win.

    1. Jim S. says:

But, they don’t hold. Balt w new life.

  68. Jim S. says:

    Down go the Ravens!!

    1. Steelag70 says:

Cleveland with a huge comeback today though…another crazy Sunday in the NFL….

      1. Florida Steeler says:

Cleveland has a young, bright head coach. He made halftime adjustments against the Steelers and Cleveland was down 28-3 at the half today.

      2. Jim S. says:

Cleveland has owned the 2 nd half this yr.

  69. Dom says:
    -2

Looks like the Bengals will run away with this division. Should go 5-0 against the hapless Pats.

    1. Florida Steeler says:

Stay awake to watch what a real coach will so. Put the house on Belicheck!!!!!

  70. Tim says:

Interesting how quickly the line for next week’s game saw a 3-pt swing …. Stillers were favored by 1.5 … now Browns favored by 1.5 based on today’s performances. Buh-bye.
