Penguins 3, Panthers 1, final

First!!!

So Sid has 2 goals in last 20 games.
Last 40, it's something like 10 or 12?
Discuss!

And.....(drum roll)
ADAMS OUT W INJURY!!!!!!

Is the Earth still turning on its axis?????

No more streak, my goodness will he have a press conference at center ice?

No idea what's up with Sid and the goal drought. He misses Duper is all I can come up with.

Erhoff to IR.
My goodness.

Anybody see line up? Is Klink out? For Ebbett for cripes sake??

Spalls to the wall!!!!

But Oy, Louie.

POOOO!!!

4th line looking good there to set that goal in motion.

Pouliot first NHL goal on his first shot.

So that's what a 4th line looks like without Adams.

Even if it's only because of injuries, it's nice to see the young Dmen getting a chance to play. Have to see what they can do, what they need to work on to improve and maybe showcase for a possible trade later on in the season.

Would love to see someone take care of Upshall.

When did the Flyers change their team colors to blue, red and white?

Downie is nuts

Downie is beyond intense right now.

Shades of the Islanders game from a couple of years ago... excessive shenanigans.

Is it me or has this first period taken a long time?

With the Jets idle, the Penguins now pace the league in minor penalties.

Why is Mitchell still in the game?
Downie is gonna go ape on somebody. Wonder if Tochett can keep him in line.
TG Sid is still alive.

The penalty on Hornquist, joke.
Refs are beer league tonight.

Embellishment???
Good lord.

This league is a JOKE. It's getting as bad as the NFL.

Embellishing should only be called when there is no penalty called against the other player. Something must be done against this.

Embellsihing should only be called for a player trying to draw a penalty when there is none. Period.

too bad DK is taking this game off. would love his perspective on the way this game is being called

How can hockey call itself major league with high school refs on the ice.

I know DK would tell us the refs do not have it in for the Penguins but it sure looks that way to me.

Yes, the refs have been putrid, but Pens have squandered 5 PP opportunities. Also, I'm sure FLA is pleased that Downie took himself out of the game by selfishly continuing to throw punches after refs had intervened in the fight.

Gene Z very true start scoring on the PP would certainly help 0 for 5 just won't cut it

Rare sighting! Crosby scores!

Sid breaks out. Nice to see.

Fleury is stopping everything... except the refs from making bad calls.

Off the Schneid!!!

What a mess of a game, bad officiating, Pens fairly undisciplined, out-shot by 11, 5v5, but another 2 points thanks to Fleury's stellar play.

DK should fleury be in consideration for the Vezina?

It's early but 29 is team MVP

Bad officiating is causing me not to want to watch sports. I change the channel and if I find something better I stay with it. Last night during the Pens game I was watching "Everybody Loves Raymond"

It seems the idiots have taken over the world.

Martin and Scuderi becoming more expendable daily.
Check that, Scuderi's always been expendable.
Wish Kunitz had shown more jump but it's just his first game back.....

Pouliot looked great for first NHL game. Wrister over left shoulder of Luongo -- right in front of me -- a thing of beauty. Well-timed pinch down right wall. Was evident Jussi never thought Pouliot would risk going that deep. Wrong . . . and goal.

HCMJ sat Pouliot for one shift after giveaway -- loved that as well. Accountability -- something sorely lacking in Bylsma era. Next shifts were with Depres. LOVED that pairing.

Trade Martin or Ehrhoff or unload Scuds (any way possible). Leave this kid alone and just imagine the possibilities with this young D-corps.

Gotta throw some love towards Depres again. Another very sound and solid all-around game.

Honestly, cannot remember even ONE pass all evening that was not tape-to-tape. The one through two zones to the blade of Kunitz in stride at the blue line was simply outstanding. Had other options on that play but he chose . . . .well, wisely.

Any word on GEno getting fined or Mitchell getting (one hopes) suspended for the helmet BS?

Welp.
Let's hope Crosby's finger isn't fractured in the same way Kunitz's foot wasn't fractured.

Ehroff not going anywhere, he has a very limited trade clause, besides he was playing very well
