Getting ready for faceoff …
Game: Penguins (42-25-11) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (31-29-18), 12:38 p.m., Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia
Goaltenders: Thomas Greiss (9-5-3, 2.51) vs. Steve Mason (16-17-11, 2.22)
TV, radio: NBC (national), 105.9 the X
Online: GameCenter / Multimedia / Official game notes
UPDATE 12:20 p.m.: The Penguins’ scratches are Steve Downie, Kris Letang and Christian Ehrhoff. Evgeni Malkin will play, as had been announced yesterday. Because Downie is out, the team again go with a sixth defenseman in Taylor Chorney. And yes, for those wondering, Downie’s injury is legit. He hurt his left hand in the second period yesterday in Columbus. I watched him remove his glove and skate slowly back to the bench shaking it, after which he received treatment.

Claude Giroux’s 23 goals and 46 assists both rank second among the Flyers. — GETTY
