  1. Karen says:

    Go Royals!

I know trades happen all the time but it’s still weird seeing Peavy’s name attached to another team. The local media was having a field day with all the former Red Sox still in playoffs a week ago. I think every team had them. They must bring good luck. We needed one

    1. Karen22 says:

Not to be confused with “Karen” above, but I say “Go Royals!” too!

    2. Jim S. says:

Peavy actually played almost 12 yrs before he ever got to Boston.

Thanks dk for this thread. Jal great as usual. Hope for a better game tonight.

  4. Jim S. says:

Peavy was a really good pitcher for a long time, but he’s running on fumes these days. Kind of amazing SF is where they are with him being tabbed for Game 2.

  5. Jim S. says:

KC needs to pull this out tonight, or they are staring at the wrong end of a short series.

    1. They might be anyway.

      1. Jim S. says:

That’s true, Lucky. 3/4/5 all in SF.

  6. Patrick(ri) says:

I still think you shouldn’t bet against a team that wiped out Oakland, Angels and the tigers.

Cain runs the bases like a couple of Pirates I have seen.

    1. Jim S. says:

I like how the new GPS technology allowed them to tell us how fast Cain was going. He looked a lot like Cutch & Marte whipping around 3rd @ 20+ mph.

  7. Looks like former Pirate farmhands aren’t faring too well tonight. Machi, then Strickland.

  8. Jim S. says:

That’s 5 bombs allowed by Strickland in the playoffs. Then he acts the fool. KC is very much alive.

    1. Patrick(ri) says:

      What did he do, Jim?

      1. Started yelling at Perez and Infante after an HR. Childish.

        1. Patrick(ri) says:

          Thanks, Lucky.

        2. Jim S. says:

          Bizarre, to say the least.

        3. He was probably frustrated, as they say. Gave up a 2-run double, then a 2-run bomb. Then blew his cork.

  9. Patrick(ri) says:

Lost my satellite up here, turned to Gamecast and see it is suddenly 7-2. Wow!

    1. Jim S. says:

      Patrick:

Peavy couldn’t get the first 2 guys out in the 6th. Then, Machi came in & got hammered, & Hunter Strickland was even worse – including a bomb to LC.

      1. Patrick(ri) says:

Best inning of the series for KC & foul weather blew it away. Ah well.

        1. Jim S. says:

Hopefully, you didn’t get hit too hard.

  10. Jim S. says:

Wade Davis, the often overlooked piece of the Myers-Shields deal. Nasty stuff.

    1. theplanisworking says:

      Rooting for the Royals, Jim.
Liked that trade for KC. They went for it.
      .
Hope they can build off of tonight.

      1. Jim S. says:

My prediction now, plan, is they’ll be heading back to KC for Game 6 with the Giants up 3-2. That would set up for a great finish, potentially.

  11. Dom says:

Just like I said, Royals in six!
