Penguins 2, Hurricanes 1

Happy and HEALTHY New Year to the Pens and everyone here!

What a fun way to spend NYE! Going to an NHL game and maybe a nice dinner afterwards (if you have reservations, that is).

Happy, safe and healthy new year to all. Don't drink and drive!

So what shift does Bennett go out?

A this point I like ehrhoff over letang on the power play

Great stack save by MAF!
Errey credits Meloche.
Just kill me now.

Player of the game: Marc-Andre Fleury!

Boy this place is jumpin'!
Pens win 2-1 should anybody notice....

Bennett has now played in one consecutive game. Garry Unger is worried.

Will say it again. #1 PP unit flourishes once Letang off and Pouliot in.

Etch it.

God, we need to pray that Beau Bennett stays healthy. Maybe this is over effusive in my praise but HE IS REALLY GOOD!! At least in the offensive zone, every play he makes is a positive/smart play. His shot is excellent, his passing and vision are even better. He has that innate IQ to know what to do. I really focused on him today, and he is just spot on in the offensive zone as far as making the right play, which usually results in a scoring chance.

I know we have seen such a fractured, small samples, but he makes his linemates better. I like the line of Sutter, Kunitz and Bennett, but have to think when guys get healthy, Bennett has bigger things. He is one guy who not just can think the game, but play the game with Sid. Would love to see them paired together.

With a new coach, illness and injuries, I would think pens fans would be thrilled at this point of the season.

There seems to be no buzz about today's outdoor game. Were there too many last year?

I guess it's subjective but I can't believe DK didn't have Fleury as the number 1 star.

I don't like scratching Klinkhammer. He brings a lot more to the table than Ebbett and Adams
