Lets see if the extra work helps Mr Kang get going

I would love to see Tony carry this into April.

Guys are killing the ball today.

And Huntington confirms either Locke or Worley will end up in the pen.

And I still don't think I like it. I guess it depends on what the rest of the pen looks like.

Im okay with it. Locke's career splits say hes best early in the year. I bet NH shopped around and was getting 50 cents on the dollar for him.

JP said yesterday that neither Holdzkom nor Hughes were going to start in AAA. No specific attribution. It's going to be an interesting pen roster.

Yeah, I hope as the season goes on our biggest concerns are our 12th pitcher and Kang. If we're still talking about those things a month from now we should be in pretty good shape.

Agreed. It beats arguing over the merits of Jerry Sands and Ian Snell anyday.

Wilver,

I saw that note. Looks like John is going to have a 15 man pitching staff.

John has the sourciest sources in Pirateland. Clearly knows what is going on.

Steve Blass telling the story of the birth of the Green Weenie was worth tuning in for.

By the way, I saw Bastardo pitch twice last week and he looked awful. He was all over the place with his control and without the advantage of a radar gun his stuff didn't seem very good. Of course a lot of guys don't ramp it all the way up when they know they have the team made.

Saw that too. Some people with Philly ties on the blog say he's either awful or unhittable. Whoever catches him is going to have to be aware. He seems to live really down in the zone, occasionally bouncing balls on or in front of the plate.

NMR

He's going to be a literal replacement of Justin Wilson, with a few more K's and a few less ground balls.

I'm really glad it waited until this week to rain down there.

By the way DK, the Mixon's oranges are a huge hit.

The best!

AJ Burnett, now featuring changeups and a respect for infield shifts.

Word is he may even allow Nutting to park in his own spot at the ballpark.
