Panthers 4, Penguins 3, SO, final

So Downie, Sutter and Greiss out with mumps testing for tonight.

This is going to suck if the mumps keeps popping up.

in florida in front of their HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of fans!!

As many fans will be there as goals scored. :)

GO PENS!
BEAT THE MUMPS!
Errrrr, I mean Panthers......

I just got the mumps reading this.

First comment as a DK subscriber! Go pens!

Flordia is a better team than their points total, do somethings well, but less than stellar shooting and a poor PP holds them back. Hope to see some more hockey tonight and less fisticuffs

Just got in did not see the pre game.
Who is backing up the Flower??

Jeff Zatkoff is the most normal looking guy. To me, He always looks like a guy who won a contest to be the backup goalie. Much like these Bud light "up for anything" guys

Hornquist is always going hard to the net. Always. Its a beautiful thing.

Is it just me or is anybody else cringing every time they see the #44 Pens jersey on the ice? Must be a habit I carried over from last year.

"Goalie coach Mike Bales bailed the Pens out at practice by replacing Greiss"

Ok, this may be a bit off the wall but.....he is wearing Greiss's mask...???
Now I am sure it has been totally sanitized and stuff like that (of course it was) but if Greiss does have the mumps....
Just saying.

Letang probably single-handedly cost us about 1:30 in O-zone PP time.

Not his best effort so far.

Really not a bad game given the depleted lineup.
I am even giving Stigy and Bob credit for picking up on the all star performance by the equipment guy getting Sid a new stick like almost before he broke it. Of course Sids sticks are prolly front and center less than arms reach !!!
Good job!!

This officiating crew hates the Pens too. The penalty on Despres was a phantom penalty. When is the league going to stop this BS? This is why the NHL will always be a garage league.

Christmas wish to HCMJ: Let's see a little Pouliot on PP in 3rd Period.

NHL should fold or move both Florida and Phoenix franchises. KC built that arena and wanted a NHL franchise. Seems like one could go there. Depending on Canadian snow birds for attendance may not be the way to go. Seattle may be a location as well. Las Vegas, just not sure about that one.

Well, that was certainly sudden.

Hope we don't look back on 1st Period opportunities -- and squandered PP time (looking at you, Kris) -- with regret.

Fleury looking like the Fleury of old again. Pooping pucks.

Panthers having been trying to generate offense from below the goal line all game, Pens had been doing a solid job in preventing the high % shots, but the defense wasn't good on the 3rd goal.

16 shots on goal at halfway mark of 3rd Period.

Speaks volumes.

Letang shoot it dear God.
7 mil legs, 10c brain.....

No penalty on Malkin for dropping his stick after the slash?

Spaling connects. 3-2 Panthers...

Yeah, got my wish. Pouliot a knack for getting pucks THROUGH.

Let's tie this baby up and get it to OT.

G E N O ties it!

Think I woke the wife up with the YES!

Sometime soon would like to see PP of Sid, Geno, Hornie, Depres and Pouliot.

Would be deadly.

Ok, now Pouliot in SO.

Geez!

Taking the point and happy.

I liked how puliot looked offensively today...put him with a defense only guy like scuderi and I'd like to see him stick up here especially for the pp

Pens are walking wounded and came back to get a point. Hopefully they have enough skaters for tomorrow in TB

Good fight to tie it up, lost a skills competition in the end. I hope Comeau's injury isn't severe.

Florida building a TEAM with high picks.

Edmonton building a . . . well, a mish-mosh.

Comeau out w a wrist?
Please make it stop.

Actual living room dialogue during shootout ...

Me: 'Where's Barkov? Why isn't Florida using Barkov?'

Wife: 'Who's Barkov?'

(Insane shootout goal happens.)

Me: 'That's Barkov.'

Is every player on Florida former Blackhawks?

In case anyone has wondered, Chris Kunitz has, in fact, returned to our line-up.

Giving him 3 more games. Just because.
