The Pitt secondary continues to be horrible but the schemes by House are awful.

Nice lead early. The O-line dominating the line of scrimmage and despite clearly not being 100%, Connor is gutting it out. Let's go Pitt!

Pitt has a truly special RB/WR combo in Conner & Boyd. They are generational talents who they will have for only 3 yrs. Unfortunately, they've already squandered 2 of those yrs. Paul Chryst cannot allow his defense to be coordinated again next yr by a guy who is in way over his head, and end up, essentially, wasting all 3 yrs of Boyd and Conner. They need a real DC next yr who isn't learning on the job. It's as simple as that.

And, obviously, they need to recruit better - especially on the defensive side of the ball. I'm confident Chryst's offense will put points on the board. But, they have to at least slow teams down every now and again.

Pitt's defense is ridiculously undisciplined. Soto commits an unsportsmanlike penalty, then gets in a fight with Todd Thomas. That can't ever happen. When Miami looks like the more mature team in a game ...

So, now it's 21-20 and looking like every other Pitt game.

Fortunately, Pitt had a new script tonight. Dominated the game physically and held a good Miami offens to 23. Nice win in a wildly unpredictable season. H2P!

I loved the 2nd half, especially, Lad. It showed what they can be. They've had glimpses of dominance on offense in most of their games. There is no reason for them to not go 9-4 next year. To me, that's an absolute minimum.

Agree Jim. I love how Voytik has grown this year. He can be a force his final two years. Need some better defenders (Whitehead from Central Valley will start immediately at cornerback) and they can do some damage next year. I do think they need an upgrade at DC though.....

I've liked Voytik all along, Lad. He was around the program for two years before this season, so I think some people expected him to play like a veteran immediately this year. But, the truth is, his first career start was in the opener this yr. I think he has steadily improved, and has a chance to be solid next yr and an impact QB as a senior.

Look out, Detroit, we're comin' back! The script conquers all.

One to grow on here @ Heinz Field South. If this team can learn from this, real would be wonderful. Pinstripe bowl?
